Due to the immense difficulty in recovering perpetual trophies for each of the Archery NI Championships – Indoor and Outdoor Target Championships and the Field Championships – the Board has decided to discontinue presenting the trophies at these events. This decision was not made lightly, but as only a handful of archers replied when asked about returning the trophies, the task has been impossible. Whilst we acknowledge making this decision means that history of previous trophy winners will be lost, the history will also be lost when replacement trophies have to be purchased if the originals are not returned.
Anyone currently holding an ANI perpetual trophy from any of these Championships will be allowed to keep them permanently. Should anyone prefer to give their trophy up, please contact ANI to arrange the return.
Due to the standard of Archery improving across the world both in terms of scores and training standards, the following score thresholds will be in place for the 2018/19 season for selection into the Northern Ireland Performance Academy.
|Recurve Category||Score||Compound Category||Score|
|Cadet Boys||590||Cadet Boys||620|
|Cadet Girls||580||Cadet Girls||600|
|Junior Men||600||Junior Men||620|
|Junior Women||580||Junior Women||600|
These scores will need to be achieved at either a 720 World Record status event, Northern Ireland status event or at a Performance Academy Simulation day.
The Recurve discipline score thresholds are aligned with our GB Junior International selection policy, which is the next appropriate stage for Recurve athletes. The Compound discipline score thresholds are the minimum standard to be considered for the GB Compound Development Squad.
If you wish to be considered for the Northern Ireland Performance Academy, please send your scores to Andrew.email@example.com by the 10/09/2018. Entries after this date will be subject to coaching availability.
