National Talent Development Programme comes to Northern Ireland

The National Talent Development Programme (NTDP) at the National Sports Centre in England and Archery Training Centres across the country has seen over 500 athletes attend in the last 4 years, with 36 athletes progressing into the National Age Group Academy and Great Britain Conversion Academy programmes. The National Talent Development programmes aim is to give athletes opportunities to access Archery GB Talent Pathway coaching and to give personal coaches opportunities to work with our Talent Pathway coaches. Athletes will be benchmarked on our “What it takes to Win” framework throughout the programme, with the best athletes being invited to a Profiling day towards the end of the competition calendar.

This programme has an extremely successful track record of promoting athletes into the Academy system and winning medals on an International stage. Recent athlete successes include winning International Medals in the European Championship in Patras 2018 and another athlete representing Team GB at the Youth Olympic Games.

In preparation for the NTDP those coaches looking to engage on the National Talent Development Programme, a meeting will take place in Lisnagarvey High School, on Sunday 11th November at 6pm.  This workshop will be led by Archery GB Coach Development Manager Lloyd Brown.
